Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Murchison falls
Your safari begins early with a pick-up from your residence in Entebbe at 6:00am to ensure a smooth journey to Murchison Falls National Park, avoiding traffic delays. Your first stopover will be at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino tracking. Lunch break will be in Masindi town. Proceed to the top of the falls to capture breathtaking views and take memorable photos. Proceed to your reserved lodge for check-in, dinner, and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Game drive and Boat cruise to the bottom of the falls
Your day starts with an early breakfast followed by an exciting game drive lasting approximately 3 to 4 hours. This safari adventure offers opportunities to observe diverse wildlife such as buffalos, elephants, giraffes, and with luck, even lions and leopards. Return to the lodge for a satisfying lunch. In the afternoon, embark on a boat ride along the Nile River to the bottom of the falls. This serene journey allows for close encounters with aquatic wildlife such as hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species. After the boat ride, return to the lodge for dinner and spend the night.";
Day 3: Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary & Fort Portal
After breakfast, depart Murchison Falls and drive south, stopping at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for an exciting guided rhino-tracking walk on foot — the only place in Uganda where you can encounter wild white rhinos. Continue the drive to Fort Portal, gateway to the western Uganda's crater lake district and the chimpanzee forests of Kibale. Check in to your lodge and enjoy dinner with views across the green valleys. Overnight at Fort Portal.
Day 4: Kibale Forest Chimpanzee Tracking
Wake early and transfer to Kibale National Park, home to the highest density of primates in Africa and over 1,500 chimpanzees. After a briefing at the Kanyanchu visitor centre, experienced guides lead you into the forest in search of a habituated chimp community. Spend one hour observing chimps as they crack open nuts, groom each other, and swing through the canopy with extraordinary agility. The forest also holds red-tailed monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabeys, and over 375 bird species. Return to the lodge for lunch and an afternoon walk in the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary.
Day 5: Queen Elizabeth National Park — Game Drive
Drive south from Fort Portal and enter Queen Elizabeth National Park — Uganda's most visited protected area, sprawling across the Albertine Rift Valley. Check in to your lodge on the Mweya Peninsula with sweeping views of the Kazinga Channel and the Rwenzori Mountains beyond. Set off immediately on an afternoon game drive across the Kasenyi plains in search of lions, elephants, buffalo, Uganda kob, and the endemic topi antelope. Overnight at Mweya or Katara Lodge.
Day 6: Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise & Return to Kampala
Rise early for a final morning game drive through the Kasenyi plains, then board a boat on the Kazinga Channel — the 32-kilometre waterway linking Lake Edward and Lake George. The two-hour cruise brings you within metres of hundreds of hippos and Nile crocodiles basking on the banks, while buffaloes and elephants come down to drink. Over 600 bird species have been recorded along the channel. After the cruise, begin the drive back to Kampala, arriving by evening to complete your comprehensive Uganda safari.
