WORLD TOURISM DAY 2026 — MBALE TAKES THE SPOTLIGHT
Uganda will celebrate World Tourism Day on 27 September 2026 in Mbale City, bringing tourism stakeholders, communities and visitors together for a national celebration. This year’s program places particular emphasis on digital technology and artificial intelligence, while also showcasing the tourism potential of Eastern Uganda.
Uganda is preparing to celebrate World Tourism Day , bringing the country’s tourism industry together under this year’s focus on digital transformation and artificial intelligence. The celebrations are part of a wider Tourism Month program designed to promote Uganda’s destinations and encourage more people to explore the country.
The celebrations also provide an opportunity to highlight attractions around the region, including Mount Elgon, Sipi Falls, Wanale Hill, coffee farms and cultural experiences. For travelers, it is a chance to discover a side of Uganda where adventure, nature, agriculture and culture come together. With technology and artificial intelligence changing how travelers discover, plan and experience destinations, Uganda can use these tools to make its diverse attractions more visible while creating new opportunities for tourism businesses and local communities.
