Itinerary

1

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe

Welcome to Uganda — the Pearl of Africa! Arrive at Entebbe International Airport and be met by your WildPulse driver-guide. Transfer to your hotel on the shores of Lake Victoria for check-in, a welcome dinner, and an orientation briefing covering all 14 days of this comprehensive Ugandan adventure.

2

Day 2: Entebbe Wildlife Centre & Kampala City Tour

Begin at the Entebbe Wildlife Education Centre, home to rescued and rehabilitated animals including chimpanzees, lions, crocodiles, and shoebill storks in naturalistic enclosures. In the afternoon, transfer to Kampala for an engaging city tour: the Kasubi Royal Tombs (UNESCO site), the Namugongo Martyrs Shrine, and the chaotic colour of Owino Market. Dinner at a restaurant serving traditional Ugandan cuisine. Overnight in Kampala.

3

Day 3: Jinja — Source of the Nile

Drive east to Jinja, where the world's longest river begins its journey northwards. Visit the source of the Nile, take a boat to Speke's marked point on the lake, and enjoy lunch overlooking the river. The afternoon offers white-water rafting through the Grade 4–5 rapids of the upper Nile, or a gentler kayaking and boda-boda tour through the streets of this revitalised colonial-era town. Overnight in Jinja.

4

Day 4: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

Drive northwest across the breadth of Uganda to Murchison Falls National Park. The route passes through Masindi and enters the park via the Kichumbanyobo gate. An afternoon game drive en route to your lodge often yields the first sightings of Rothschild's giraffe, the world's tallest and most endangered giraffe subspecies. Arrive at your lodge on the northern bank for dinner. Overnight at Murchison.

5

Day 5: Murchison Falls — Game Drive & Top of the Falls

Full morning game drive through the northern sector, scanning the savanna for lion, leopard, elephant, and buffalo. After lunch, drive to the top of Murchison Falls where the entire flow of the Nile is squeezed through a 7-metre cleft in the rock before crashing 43 metres below. The sheer raw power is breathtaking. Descend to the launch jetty for sundowners on the riverbank as hippos bellow in the gathering dusk. Overnight at Murchison.

6

Day 6: Boat Cruise on the Nile & Delta Game Drive

Early morning boat cruise from Paraa launch to the base of the falls — three hours of intimate wildlife encounters including hippos at extremely close range, Nile crocodiles sunning on the banks, and the elusive shoebill stork hunting in the papyrus. After the cruise and lunch, take an afternoon game drive through the delta area where the Nile spreads across a flood plain teeming with waterfowl and aquatic mammals. Overnight at Murchison.

7

Day 7: Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary & Transfer to Fort Portal

Check out after an early breakfast. En route south, stop for a guided rhino tracking walk at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary — home to over 40 white rhinos born here since reintroduction began in 2005. Continue to Fort Portal through Masindi and the crater lakes region. Check in and an evening stroll around the market town. Overnight at Fort Portal.

8

Day 8: Kibale Forest Chimpanzee Tracking

Transfer to Kibale National Park for chimpanzee tracking with one of the most studied and habituated chimp communities in the world. Spend the morning in close contact with the chimps before returning to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, guided Bigodi Wetland walk through papyrus swamp and forest edge — exceptional for birdwatching, and home to the rare otter and sitatunga. Overnight near Kibale.

9

Day 9: Fort Portal Crater Lakes & Bigodi Forest Walk

Spend the morning exploring the extraordinary crater-lake landscape of Fort Portal: 30 or more volcanic lakes within a short drive of each other, each a different shade of green, blue, or brown depending on mineral content. An afternoon guided walk at the edge of Kibale forest yields L'Hoest's monkeys, black-and-white colobus, and some of Uganda's 1,000+ bird species. Overnight near Fort Portal.

10

Day 10: Queen Elizabeth NP — Kasenyi Plains

Drive south into Queen Elizabeth National Park. The transition from rainforest to open Rift Valley savanna is dramatic: the road descends from over 1,500 metres to the flat lakeside plains in under an hour. Check in to your Mweya Peninsula lodge with panoramic views of the Kazinga Channel and the distant Rwenzori Mountains — sometimes called the Mountains of the Moon. Afternoon game drive through the Kasenyi plains. Overnight at Mweya.

11

Day 11: Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise & Ishasha Sector

Early morning game drive on the Kasenyi plains, then a mid-morning boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel — one of the finest wildlife spectacles in Uganda, with thousands of hippos, massive crocodiles, and flocks of water birds at every bend. After lunch, drive south to the Ishasha sector for a game drive in search of tree-climbing lions. Overnight at Ishasha Wilderness Camp.

12

Day 12: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

After a morning game drive in Ishasha, drive through the spectacular Kigezi highlands to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park — 321 square kilometres of ancient montane rainforest that has existed since the last ice age. Bwindi is home to almost half of the world's 1,000+ remaining mountain gorillas. Check in, attend an evening gorilla trekking briefing, and rest in preparation for tomorrow's highlight. Overnight at a Bwindi lodge.

13

Day 13: Gorilla Trekking & Batwa Cultural Experience

The summit of the safari. Trek into the rainforest with armed rangers and expert trackers to locate one of Bwindi's 19 habituated gorilla families. Spend one hour in the presence of mountain gorillas at close range — silverbacks, mothers with newborns, and juveniles playing in the undergrowth. Return to the lodge for lunch and, in the afternoon, an immersive Batwa cultural walk led by indigenous guides who share their ancestral knowledge of the forest through song, dance, and demonstrations of traditional forest craft. Overnight at Bwindi.

14

Day 14: Lake Bunyonyi & Return to Entebbe

Begin the final day with a sunrise boat trip on Lake Bunyonyi, Uganda's most scenic lake, gliding between papyrus-fringed islands as the Virunga volcanoes loom on the horizon. After breakfast, begin the long drive back to Entebbe via Mbarara and Masaka, with a lunch stop en route. Arrive at Entebbe International Airport in the evening for your departure flight — 14 days of extraordinary wildlife, culture, and adventure in the Pearl of Africa now complete.
