Day 2: Amboseli — Full Day Safari & Kilimanjaro Views
A full day in Amboseli National Park with morning and late afternoon game drives. The park is famous for its large, relaxed elephant herds photographed against the backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro — Africa's highest peak at 5,895 metres. Amboseli's open sightlines make it exceptional for predator watching: cheetah are frequently spotted hunting in the early morning, and lions often rest under yellow fever trees near the swamp edges. Overnight in Amboseli.
Day 3: Transfer to Tsavo West — Mzima Springs & Shetani Lava Flows
Drive north-east into Tsavo West National Park. Stop at Mzima Springs — a series of crystal-clear pools fed by underground lava filtration from the Chyulu Hills — where hippos and crocodiles can be observed from an underwater viewing chamber through glass. Continue to the eerily beautiful Shetani Lava Flow, a 200-year-old black volcanic field stretching across the savanna, then a morning game drive through the park's varied habitats of acacia woodland, open plains, and the Ngulia escarpment. Overnight at a Tsavo West lodge.
Day 4: Tsavo East — Red Elephants & Return to Nairobi
Cross into Tsavo East for a morning game drive among the famous red-dust elephants. The park's Aruba Dam offers reliable sightings of hippo, crocodile, and a remarkable diversity of water birds. Visit Mudanda Rock for panoramic views across the plains before checking out and driving back to Nairobi via the Mtito Andei gate, arriving at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by late afternoon.
